How to write? – Advice and Tips

To write a formal letter you need to follow certain rules and steps.

  1. First, the addresses, firstly you need to write the recipient address in the right and the address of the sender, in this case you, in the left, the address need to be complete, to make a full address you can put information like Name, Position, Address, Country and Telephone number or cellphone number.
  2. Second, the date, you can write the date in the address of the recipient or state the date in the content, like “Today, in December 5th 2014…” but this last is not formal.
  3. Third, salutation or greeting, the text is always in the left and if you know the name of the person you are writing you can use “Dear Mr. Lestnem” or use “Dear Sir or Madam” if you don’t know the name of the person.
  4. Fourth, the content needs to be in formal tone and explain the purpose and question specifically clearly.
  5. Fifth, there are three form of end a letter “Yours faithfully”, “Yours sincerely” or simply use “Sincerely”, then when you choice the form the following is the signature.
